On occasion I can hear my redfoot breathing and almost ”talking”. On the other hand there is a lot of time I hear nothing. She has seemed healthy as far as everything else goes. I have taken her in to the vet in the past for the same thing and they have automatically given her antibiotics but I’m not sure the only exotics vet in town is that experienced. The other issue is the almost talking she very occasionally does. I will try to record it if I hear it again. I have two heat lamps trying to keep her enclosure warm but I have to turn one off every so often or it gets too hot. She does seem to end up in the coldest areas very often.

My redfoot males a lot of sniffing sounds when she is trying to identify who just walked in her room or just smelling things. They have a really good sense of smell. I think as good as a dog. Mine also makes clucking chirping noises when she's happy. Like when she's sitting in the sun, in a warm bath or walking around outside. They are quite vocal.

Both too cool and too hot can cause issues.
Below 70 with a lot of humidity and dampness can cause a RI.
Above 93 with not enough humidity can cause overheating. It also causes breathing difficulties and foaming at the mouth and eyes in extreme cases.
Redfoot can be vocal when they are excited. Hopefully yours is not actually ill.
What is your temperature?
What type of enclosure?

Thank you for your comments.
Ru’s enclosure is a 4x5 bookcase on its back. She has two heat lamps and t cover her area most of the time which has increased her humidity. The temperature when both lamps are on ranges around 85-90. I do struggle with keeping consistent temps. Since my original post I have not heard her breathing but she seems a little more isolated than usual. She generally likes to stay in the cooler end of her enclosure.
