Outdoor Enclosure Fence Question

Hi Guy's,

I'm ready to move my 4 year old leopard outside to a 25' x 40' enclosure. The enclose is on a large raised bed of landscaping blocks with one 6" course left above grade. Shelly wouldn't be able to see above it and I was thinking because of it's irregular shape it would be easy if it's OK to secure a 2' high roll fence to the inside of the last course of landscaping blocks? there's 2.5" between the cedar boards on the fence picture below. I'm not sure if it's an issue with tortoises being able to climb up and be able to see outside the enclosure even though there's a 6" tall brick wall in front of them.

Here's a picture of the area:

Thanks in advance,

Phil

I don’t think the fencing would be sturdy enough.. I don’t raise leopards though... let’s see if we can get a better answer for you..

So would there be a 6 inch visual barrier all the way around the bottom of the entire thing? If yes, then I think that will probably work as long as you stake it securely every 4 feet or so.

I'm having trouble telling which side the tort will be on. The block inside its enclosure, or the block outside his enclosure with the cedar fencing in between the tort and the block.

Hi Tom,

I took these pictures today and have cleared the burning bushes and planted grasses. It will be easy to use 2x2's to stake the fencing securely to the blocks so no worries there. In the pictures you can see the area and the inside where the fence would be secured to the last course of block.

Still wondering if being able to climb up and look out presents a problem.

I picked up a roll of fence to see how strong it would be with a coarse of block behind it. Sinking the pickets 6" in the ground with the backing of the blocks made it rock solid.

Still wondering if Shelly will be OK being able to see out?
