So I have a juvenile hatchling named Vladimir that seems to be more likely to be a male animal than the other two red foot tortoises...? My older animal is from 2016, but my two babies were hatched from eggs in 2020 from the same stock from tortoiseforum.com.
One baby is much rounder than the other, and lighter. Much less outgoing than the other animal too. It is the less successful baby of the two one way or the other. Don't worry, my baby torts have always had separate tubs for themselves since birth. But one is darker black, brighter red, smoother, bolder, bigger, marbling on the plastron, and has brighter eyes... perhaps the adult torts hormones are setting off the gender expression in my younger tortoise(Vlad)
