Hi,

I'm new to the forum and a new tortoise owner. Looking for advice because all the vets in my area are currently not taking new patients.

My baby is a Hermann's tortoise about 2.5 years old. I noticed a bit of pink that would appear along the center line of her plastron from time to time, which I assumed was when she was growing. Recently it looks like the pink area has widened and there are some pale pink patches near the sides of her plastron and around some scutes as well. The pink is more apparent when she is warm. When I press on the pink areas they will go pale and turn back pink when I lift my finger. She is eating well but has been less active (sleeps and hides a lot), but we have cold winters in Quebec...so it might have been winter blues?

Attached some pictures. Is this something to be concerned about?

Thanks for any advice you can share!

I know I’m a bit late to the party, but she looks like a Dalmatian Hermann’s like mine. My girl is 9.5” and about 5.5-6 year old. She has the same in her growth lines.
