I jus got an 8x8x4 PVC enclosure for my Redfoot, its currently sitting right on the ground on the carpet. I was told that I need to have it up off the ground so air can get under it. Does that really need to happen?

Not if it is staying warm enough where it is. Have you checked the temp on the floor of the enclosure?

I think most people prefer to have it elevated for ease of viewing and ease of working on the enclosure. If you don't mind bending down and working on your knees, then it should be fine.

8x8x4? Is it a closed chamber? You'll have to crawl inside to reach the back of it... I've never seen one that size. Can we see pictures? That sounds pretty cool!

It’s not completely set up yet, still waiting on the uv fixtures to come in. Once they do I will finish it. But for bow it’s going to stay sitting on the ground unless it’s too cold I guess.

I had only asked cuz you said you wished you had gotten the 96x24x24 so I thought you miss spoke. Yours being wider though actually will work better. An adult RF needs a lot more room then what the one you have is. A 4x8 is minimum for a Russian and they don't get as big as a RF. Do you have an outdoor enclosure too for warm days?

I was only worried about how tall it is now. I will have to hang her heat and uvb instead of just screwing them into the sockets, but thats ok. No I dont have an enclosure for outdoors, I need to get one or build one i think.
