Built a new tort-cave today...found a flat piece of limestone about 3-1/2' X 2', and it's supported by a couple of pieces about 18"L X 9"T, mortared together...perfect for a roomy hidespot for my 4 Hermann's torts!

Only have Jennifer and Ophelia in that enclosure at the moment, but the other two will move in after they've been ruled "clean bill of health" by my vet and the quarrantine is over.

OK, here is the new Tort-Cave (Ptolemy's Den of Moral Turpitude, if you will... :p)

The previous tort cave was about 40% the size of this one and could barely hold Jennifer and Ophelia...

That is so cool and so simple. Good idea.

Simplicity is a good thing, IMABO... :p

Kinda like the "natural aesthetic" of stone.

Been wanting to build a larger hide, but couldn't find the RIGHT top piece (I run across lots of smaller pieces, but never one of the dimensions I've envisioned) until yesterday.

Looks great, and I love that it is natural, I hate my hide in my enclosure, its a plastic pastry box! I can't even eat pastry, so it annoys me everyday, lol!

We're just south of Oklahoma. between Lousiana to the East, New Mexico to the West, and Old Mexico directly South...it's a whole 'nother country! :p
