I took a couple of pictures of Bowsers butt so hopefully I can find out finally if he/she is a male or female. I have been waiting so long for this and it would be nice to know for sure. Please help!!!

Here is the plastron in the butt area...

I hope you can see her tail. She wouldn't straighten it out for me at all and of course she pooped right before I took this picture  It's not really that big to begin with...

Some side views of the plastron. I hope this helps somehow...

And here is the backend of the carapace. I heard that how it's sloped or angled shows if a male or female also. Doesn't hurt to add this pic too I guess, lol.

I was wanting a boy years ago, but now I'm happy with as long as I have a healthy tortoise. I have started to call her a she because it just looks like I have a female. But no matter what she is going to keep the same name... She's my little Bowser bug :D

Please help me!!! :tort:

My guess is female as well...what is her SCL?

What is SCL???

@Danny - What are you looking at other than the tail? Is it the plastron area by the butt? I can't remember if it's a wide "V" shape is male or female... Looks wide to me, but then again it might not be wide at all and there are wider ones out there.... Wow, I'm losing my mind, lol

I'm looking at the ends of the anal scutes, which on a female would be either straight down or curving in. On a male the ends would be growing away from each other. I'm also looking at the seam between the anal and femoral scutes. On a female the seam dips down at about the middle of the seam. On a male the seam would be straight.
Oh SCL is straight carapace length :D

Another girl, lol. It's funny because we went through this with both of our bearded dragons. Now all 4 of our pets are female and 3 of them can lay eggs!
