Wow, the inside of his mouth looks like old rotted bone or something. Is the roof of his mouth and his tongue smooth and spotted or porous and rough like it looks?

He is an alligator snapper. He is about ten pounds, never tried to get a weight on him, kinda tough. So far, never bit, I remove him every month and clean his tank and him. He is very strong and always wants to bite me, lol. I have six filters running, they do a great job keeping the water clean and clear.
He is so cool...love the bait
