Has the scalation consistent of gopherus flavomarginatus(bolsen tortoise) native to mexico and south border states. How far on the border are? Either way its a gopherus species in my opinion. Whats its size and could you provide more photos of its plastron and face?

Definitely a Russian tortoise. Handsome fella!

Looks a little dry - I would suggest soaking it in warm water, deep enough to go up to the seam where the upper and lower shell meet.

You can find a great care sheet and list of edible plants at www.russiantortoise.net - Russians are so fun, I have 4 of them! They have a lot of personality.
