I wondering how many of you have ever been for instance in a drivethru and paid for the meal(s) of the car behind you?

Never, I'm a sever and sometimes I'll get tables paying other table bills without them knowing, and when they ask for the bill, I get to say someone paid for it, always make them happy lol, and then they look around haha. But never drivethru why do you ask?

Have any of those tables gone on and paid for another table? Asking because I am just being curious.

I never have done that. I have paid for a ladies items in the grocery line, that she had to put back because she didn't have enough money. Done that a few times. I have also paid for the balance of something, when someone was scurrying to find the last bit of change they needed. Also have paid for the person behind me, toll. That was when someone paid for mine, I passed it on. Have adopted families many times for Christmas too. It is one of the best feelings you'll ever have and this is from a person that really doesn't like people, let alone strangers:D.

My best friend just passed away in her sleep at 27 leaving behind her 1 and 5 year old. Her sister adopted the kids and I am making sure their whole family has a great Christmas. My parents and I are getting her kids and my friends kids all presents they need for Christmas because I know things are tight right now.
Also I went to Tim hortons once and someone early that morning paid a lot of money to pay for the people behind him, as the day went on more people put in more money than their bill. It went on all day! People not having to pay for their food :)

Yeah I've had tables pay for other tables, it happens not often but it happens. It's nice to help out and even if it's a little bit of help it can change a persons whole outlook on life and how they see other people.

When my son was alive, he always brought home a homeless person for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We would let him take a shower, have a good meal and gave him some new clothes. A few times we let someone sleep over when it was too cold out. My other son who has the horse farm in New Jersey, took in a homeless man his son found in Manhattan and he lives in a trailer on the farm now. He works for my son and eats his meals with the family. This man was a college graduate, who had a great job, and then his company downsized and he lost his home and job, and started drinking. He's sober now for one year and started a compost business for my son with all that good horse manure. When my kids were little we used to go to the homeless shelter with a bunch of toys for the kids, and baskets of make up, and other things a woman would love.
There were many times we would pay for groceries for people we knew who couldn't get all they needed. I was always taught that these are the things we are supposed to do, and that's how I taught my kids.

Right now i am helping my aunt out, she has stage 4 lung cancer. Her kids basically dumped her off at home to die alone. Anyways, I've been getting things organized for her and. Working with hospice. She still gets around. She told me the other day she was at the grocery store to pick up a few things and the guy behind her paid for her groceries. He told her " Merry Christmas" There are still giving people out there.. made me feel happy that there is proof they are still out there...kudos to you Barb!

Terryo your stories always amaze me. Your such a wonderful person and you raised those boys so very right and they show that with their compassion for others.

I try to pay for the someone in line once a year. It makes you feel so good to do a good thing totally unprompted. I would like to think that it's for someone having a hard time or about to have a tough day... And it might make them inclined to do something nice for someone else.

I've done that at McDonald's. I usually buy a bunch of food at the store (chips, soda, etc) and hand it out to the homeless in downtown LA. My neighbor used to help, and one year we brought home this teen girl, she is literally one of the sweetest people I know. She went to high school, and started college but when her mom died she left to help out and couldn't get back into another school.

I love helping people. We do a lot of community services through my church... When my best friend lost his daughter my mom brother and I all paid their bills for a few months so they wouldn't have to go back to work right away.. My old boss in Texas still pays a passed coworkers wife the same amount he was making every week.. We all should take care of our neighbors. And fellow man.

I just can not imagine children like that. :( How sad to have to deal not only with cancer, but that knowledge og her kids. So glad you are there for her.

I work for Starbucks and a lot of people (in the drive thru more than the cafe, surprisingly) will pay for the person behind them. The longest string of cars we've had that kept it going was 14. It was awesome. I love the spontaneous random acts of kindness. Seeing people do this more often because of the holidays is a really great thing, and makes me want to pass it on. Pay it forward.

My mom and I paid for someone's stuff at the dollar store, it was a little girl and her parents were outside smoking and she had this teddy bear but she couldn't buy it because she didn't have the money and she was scared to go outside and ask her parents for more money and so we paid for it

I feel lucky to just have a healthy tort!! There is nothing like seeing his cute little head pop out of his burrow in the morning , and that alone brightens my day. It makes me want to make everyone else happy to!
