Great job. Florida is a great place to raise tortoises for sure. You are very creative. I'm working on plans for a larger greenhouse for mine and luv the waterfall idea. Going to add one in.

The greenhouses are kept on my back patio. It's screened in and has an overhang to protect from the rain, but gets morning light, and provides a better atmosphere that I can control. Plus my house isn't huge, but the patio is fair game. Once my guys out grow these enclosures the greenhouses be moved outside to grow their food on a larger scale (grown in tubs and planters as of now) instead of having my crops trampled by my lovable mutt/destroyer of all things green.

I chose to make them myself since the zilla ones on the market had terrible reviews, and we're more expensive than just making them myself. Plus the filters I installed have a fantastic quality to them, and should probably last a very long time. If people were interested, I would definitely not mind selling them. The process does take a long time to complete though, which is the only down side to that. Now that I'm getting comfortable with the process and making it something of my own (trial and error of four of these things will do that to you lol) it's becoming less of a "what the heck does he want me to do?!" And more of an enjoyable hobby.

Ps I love this forum and how positive you guys all are!

could you post a link or how you learned how to make them? you don't have to worrie about anything coming off in the water? like parts of the foam?

That's the model I used to make them. While making them you use grout to cover the styrofoam, then acrylic paints, then multiple layers of nontoxic sealant, then sand sold for reptiles used for traction, topped with aquarium grade silicone that's nontoxic to pets. My tortoises have been climbing in and out of the basins and have not torn any part of it up, but I am keeping an eye out for any parts becoming undone. They are pretty resilient after curing.

The foam itself I just bought from Lowes in the insulation section. It was left over from making my insulated outdoor hide for my larger sulcata. You could use any styrofoam really. I don't think he sells products on his site; he does provide a video with a list of needed materials and where to find them/how much they cost though.

This is so amazing. But my guy is so destructive he would tear everything apart. I used to have stuff in his cage but he just pushes it all over :(
