  • (P2) "extra-soft" kid's spiderman toothbrush and rubbing the spots that seem affected by it with a Q-tip with betadine on it. But my main questions are that a 104 F basking spot is too hot for a tortoise, and she keeps climbing on top of her little hidey log in her darkroom and I am afraid she will get hurt.     I have a Russian tortoise she is roughly a year old her name is Carrot. She has one of the wooden tortoise boxes with a darkroom. she has a big water tub and a calcium block, and I feed herb Romaine Lettuce and zoo-med tortoise pellets. I think she has or had shell rot but it does not seem as bad as the pics on the website that said how to treat it. I have been scrubbing her shell with Castile soap and an

    Hi, please post in the Introductions thread ,you'll get a big welcome and can post pictures so that people can advise you about the shell rot. There is a lot of old and out of date information on other websites and social media etc I don't think soap is recommended, but very few members read profile posts and text count is limited here so you won't get a detailed response.
