    Happy Spring Everyone

I’m back on watching posts on TF. There’s not much going on during brumation time. Rock and Roll emerged from their brumation mid-March. They were in great shape, enjoyed their soaking and have been ravishingly eating ever since. I have separated the sibling at the suggestion of TF experts that...

    Happy Spring

HAPPY SPRING everyone. I haven’t been on in a long time , actually, since last Spring. The weather has been pretty sunny and warming up here in Las Vegas, so I went to look for Rock & Roll yesterday. They both made it through brumation once again. I soaked them in warm water and they enjoyed a...

Signs of bullying in young tortoises

Thanks for your response Tom. Rock snd Roll are siblings. The mother & father live next door and are the same size. R&R have separate food bowls and they both climb into their bowls when eating. There are several water bowls around, so that doesn’t appear to be an issue. When they are in the...

Signs of bullying in young tortoises

I tried to tell my son that folks on TF said that one if his torts was bullying the other and he swore it wasn’t. Since they’ve come out of brumation Rock has doubled in size ( he was already bigger than Roll). When I go out to fed or just check on them they are usually resting in the base of...

Happy Spring everyone. I’m happy to say that Rock & Roll made it through their first winter of brumation. They look happy and healthy. Still not moving too much. They’re still pretty much dormant. Is there anything else I need to do. Also, because of the rain there are lots of weeds coming up...

    First time brumating

This is the first time my desert torts have brumated. The weather has been cold one day and warm the next. Should I check in them to see if they are awake? They’ve been secured since the end of November. They are 3 years old. Any help and suggestions would be appreciated.
