Looking through legume picts on TTT I think it's either Alfalfa (do not feed) or Black Medic (feed in moderation). I guess I better wait for it to flower just to be sure. Thanks for the guidance!
It's a fast growing climbing/trailing vine thingy that might make a nice hedge along the front fence. However, I don't want to allow it to take up space if my Russians cant eat it. Any idea what it is and if it is safe?
I believe that this chamomile. But what type and is it edible? It's growing all over the back yard and I'll toss some in for my Russians if it's something they might like.
Looking for ways to enhance my Russian's diet so I'm looking around the property to see what's growing well here. Do you know what this plant is and can I add some to the food dish?
I have to add that owning my torties has totally and completely ruined my former love of flowers. I used to look at a flower as a thing of beauty. Now I see an amazingly beautiful flower and all I can think is, "Hmmm, I wonder if the boys can eat that." My husband bought me a pretty flowering...
Just wanted to drop a quick note about how happy I am to have found this site!! I've come to realize that I never have to ask a question - AT ALL! All I have to do is a quick search and I find all the answers I need. I am so grateful to have access to such a wealth if information from so many...
Holy cow!! What a great sight, Lismar79!!! I have bookmarked it AND printed their free booklet of edible plants! My hubby now has something to work with!
Thanks for the input. Is there someplace I can find a list of what flowers are okay? My husband is collecting garden ideas for our future home and I'd like him to plant things our new kids can eat.
Since receiving my gift of two torties and telling my friends that they like dandelions and rose petals, many folks are collecting petals for me but I'm not sure if all flower petals are good. I currently have a small bag of tulip petals and was wondering if they are okay for my guys.
Are there...
I was recently told that torties love rose petals. Since I had not seen that anywhere in association with Russians I thought I'd ask here first.
Also, how much should I be feeding each day?
