    Insulating night box top?

How big is the box ? If you are using the foil backed insulation it shouldn't deteriorate. You can us spray glue to secure it to the roof.

When I was a kid I found some eggs while searching for salamanders. I had no idea what they were, I put them in a metal 5 gallon bucket (before plastic buckets were made) with some dirt. Placed them at the top of our attic steps near a window and they hatched into baby Black Rat Snakes. It would...

    Walkers Winter Pics

Him and me both. The week before last I was cutting my mulberry trees back and then went to cut the banana plants back which are still standing tall. They are usually all fallen over this time of year. After cutting a couple I noticed the centers were still green so I quit cutting. Today I...

Concrete board acts like a heat thief and is almost impossible to heat up when it is used as a floor. It looks like you are tight on the inside height of the box but it would help to just put a piece of luan or wood paneling on the floor on top of it. if you have room it would be better to add a...

    Walkers Winter Pics

We still haven't had any harsh winter weather yet. We got some of that arctic air starting Friday and the temperature dropped down to 25 F this morning and we only got to the upper 30s today. Walker came out to eat at 4 PM and after getting his fill went back in for the night.

Should I force feed?-sick sulcata help

Until you finish the new enclosure you can cover the top with aluminum foil and cut out for the lights. and pour enough water in to bring the humidity to above 90 percent throughout. You said that you have other reptiles, if you have some hot rocks you can suspend them down on the inside around...

    24/7 Outside Central Coast California?

In 1996 I went to the Orlando Reptile Show to get a Black Mountain Tortoise and while there I also picked up a hatchling Sulcata. I knew he was going to get big (and he has). I live near Washington DC where we can have extremely unpredictable winter weather. He lives outside all year and comes...

    Winter Diets

I agree with @maggie18fan about the spring mix. I also feed my two Hermann hatchlings both Mazuri formulas. For the LS mazuri I buy the mini one, they soften quick if needed. but are small enough after they acquire a taste for it, wetting may not be necessary. The tortoise pictured on the mini...
