Males have longer tales and carry them to the side. Females have short stubby tales with an asterick shape. It can be hard to tell when the tort is young as they all look female:):tort:

Coconut fiber from petsmart doesn't contain ants. I typically use that for my tort and I've never seen any. It must have occured while outside:)
