Alrighty so here's a question that's probably gonna sound a bit weird.
I know he doesn't need the basking lamp so I haven't used it other than just to flip it on to snap a couple photos. (The lamp is there because the enclosure was previously housing my Leopard.)
The lamp itself can be...
I caved. @Clamhandsmcgee
Introducing Bats H. Brucio. My new gorgeous baby as of 11/21/17! He's approx. 8 months old, I believe. Photos from his first night home (last night 11/21/17):
What do I do? All of the sudden I have fruit flies in the enclosure and I'm afraid they are going to get out of hand, just noticed one flying round the kitchen today. Ughhhhhh
So I switched up Peanut's enclosure a little bit yesterday morning. In doing so I replaced his plastic water dish with a terracotta dish, slightly larger than what he had before. Since then I've noticed he's MUCH more active, constantly roaming it seems. He will walk from one end of the...
It's kind of a big deal!
So those of you that have taken the time to read and respond my newbie Leopard Tort Mommy posts for advice all week (SO glad I found you all ❤️) I'd like to ask a small favor:
My Peanut doesn't have a birthday. I know he could care less lol, but, as dorky as it sounds...
:)
Is this normal looking? Yesterday was the first time he pooped during a soak, I still have yet to see urates at all? Seemed like it took awhile for him to get this out, lots of bubbles...

Seriously!
Started out with a love for tortoises... based on looks, honestly. I mean really, how CUTE can they be, especially babies. We have friends with 60-80lb+ torts who are just AWESOME.
Then there's like - take the kids to the zoo and "Awww... look at that baby sulcata! Have you ever...
So evidently I need to revamp my baby leopard's indoor enclosure which I will be working on over the next few days. I trust what I see and read on this forum over the place I got him 100%... which is why I am changing it. Ugh, it makes me so mad that I put any time and effort in to an enclosure...
1. I'm having a real hard time not letting all these plants go to waste. Dandelion seems to get nasty after just a couple days in the fridge and my collards are limp and wilting within 3 days. I'm open to some suggestions on how to keep them longer. Romaine and Kale tend to hold up pretty well...
Hello all! Brand spanking new to this community. I'm excited to be part of it and a first time tortoise mommy! I have a leopard tortoise who I brought home this past Monday. They tell me he's between 6-12 months old. Yesterday, 48 hours later, I noticed his the very top of his shell is hard, the...
