Line the floor with some type of irritating material. Like a computer chair pad, but flipped upside down. Those pads have little rubber spikes on the bottom. That might not be what’s woks, but you get the idea behind it. The cat won’t stay if what it’s laying on is uncomfortable.
It shouldn’t take long for it to take effect. I want to say 3 days or so, at least that’s my experience. Go over to the mound and stump around, you’ll know if it’s worked based on what happens next.
