Yeah, I will have to get some more photos for you. I have 13 hatchlings currently. As far as winter goes I set up a heated hide for them. I just make sure they are locked in on the colder nights. The hatchlings I bring inside.
Pure luck. Usually I go out in the morning and I’ll find them walking around. Also after it rains I’ll have a look because this gets all the reds moving.
Hey zero I was hoping you would chime in because these little hatchlings are from the 3 females I bought from you about 2 years ago. There is no path other then the ones created from my own repeated use and the tortoises. When I am in there I am extremely alert as to where my feet are.
Yeah scooter is the smallest female, Ruby is the largest and lays 6 eggs per clutch, and Charlie is the only one I have not seen lay eggs. She is the one who is the second largest of the three I got from you.
Here is a tortoise update for you. It’s been about a year since I got the 3 of them from you. They have a male that keeps them on their toes. I wanted to send a video but I’m not sure you can on this forum.
My enclosure was pretty simple. It’s has just pressure treated plywood, with electrical fencing running around the perimeter. It’s less expensive and easier to plant. Plus I could make a pretty large enclosure this way. The bottom is just the ground. Granted I have redfoots and the only digging...
My main complaint was maintaining a steady temperature. However, after taping all but two of the vent holes I found that the temps have been far more stable. Thanks for the information.
What do you guys use for incubators? I am currently using a hovabator and I am not a fan. I have seen fridges converted into incubators. If anyone has successfully done this could you point me to some instructions on how to do this?
