    Sheldon

Just wanted to share what my wonderful husband did for our Sheldon. After he passed Jim made the box to bury him in out of the wood from his baby enclosure. We buried him in the yard that he grazed on weeds. I really miss him! Some days are good, but others I feel lost.

    Poor Sheldon

We found a beautiful spot in our yard where Sheldon would graze on his favorite weeds and March around. My husband made a box to bury him out of the wood from his baby enclosure. Thank you everyone for the kind words. I have good days and bad days. 🐢❤️

    Poor Sheldon

I am writing this with a broken heart. We took Sheldon the vet in Corvallis Eastgate animal clinic. Sheldon condition had deteriorated so much he was no longer trying to move around and would moan. Our options were to try and do surgery but all the Specialist that could do it were either off or...

    Poor Sheldon

    Out of Sorts

Well since we haven’t had any improvements was able to get a vet appointment. They will see him at 10:30. Had to drive to the next town over since our area doesn’t have many options when it comes to tortoise vets. I will keep everyone posted. Please send positive thoughts for poor Sheldon

Yes it is on a thermostat. The Shed has built in heater that we can control and he still has a CHE in his box. We are needing to change that out to a radiant heat Matt either mounted to the lid or wall. I haven’t figured out what size. Have you used chicken broders for heat?

    Out of Sorts

We do have a Kane heat Matt that wasn’t installed yet. I did get it out and have it plugged in for him. He hasn’t shown much interest in it yet

    Out of Sorts

He has absolutely no interest in food at all 😞 still no poop or pee. Officially worried trying to get a vet appointment. To see if there is a blockage. We have bumped up all his temps and soaking 3x daily. He has made a burp/moaning noise a couple times.

Thank you, for the reply, his eyes look brighter today. His last poop was Tuesday that was normal. He hasn’t pooped or peed since then. Normally I see him drink water when he is out walking around and when he soaks. Have not seen him drink. He goes into his night box after his soaks and has been...

He does have a place to bask but I might need make the overhead light that I have on during the day brighter. Tonight when we got home he had moved to opposite end of his night box. He is actually looking brighter and moving around better. Thank you for all you do here for all us keepers ❤️🐢

    Our Sheldon

Thank you ? that exactly what I thought he was doing as well. We are going to modify the burrow so the lid lifts up so I can get him out at night it is to cold here at the moment for him to stay outside.

    Our Sheldon

Well spring is definitely here. Sheldon just turned 3 and weighs 23.5 pounds. Came through the first winter in his outside enclosure and shed. We will need to modify a few things for next winter.
