Hello! Long time no see and a very unfortunate event.

Rex was given to me by an aunt who has a couple of tortoises of her own. Mine are actually still quite young, they're pretty small in comparison to the adult ones that I have seen. I calculate that they'll be fully grown in around 5-8 maybe even 10 years :) **Edit. Also I think that Benji might...

How fast do Desert Tortoises grow?

Hello! I have 2 texas torts and they grow pretty slow. How old are your babies? I know that desert torts are bigger than texas tortoises, so they might reach the 100 grams mark at around 6 months?

How old could Frankie and Benji be? (Texas tortoises)

How old could Frankie and Benji be? (Texas tortoises)

What do you mean by faint coloration on the shell?? But now that you mention it, Frankie's shell is quite flatter than Benjamin's and Rex's... and her plastron is different... now you got me thinking! I'll investigate some more about that species!

    Top soil smell?

If you don't feel comfortable with it then maybe you should change it. It could be that the soil won't harm your tortoise, but who knows... better to be safe than sorry :) good luck!

How old could Frankie and Benji be? (Texas tortoises)

I know for sure that Frankie is a little older, since she is a bit larger. I also know that they're still a little young... I've had them for almost a year know (First I got Benji, then like 3 months later Frankie was given to me and then baby Rex, who just turned 1 year old). The pictures were...

    Sulcata Tortoises eyes looking strange.

Terramycin is AMAZING. I have the same problem with my tort Benjamin... sometimes when he wakes up his left eye looks just like in your tortoise's pictures. I just apply some terramycin with a cotton swab when his eye is looking strange and in less than 15 minutes everything is back to normal...

Does this look like shell rot or fungus??

Hello! I've had Frankie for about 6 months now. She's a Texas tortoise (born in captivity), she was given to me by my father. I have other two texas tortoises, Bejamin and Rex. Benji and Rex's plastrons are dark... but Frankie's plastron looks white (?) I used to think that this was normal, as...
