Thank you, i will make a new enclosure for him on a better place like a plastic box and fill the bottom with earth and sand but right now all earth outside is very wet because it rained heavy, also i cant leave him outside because the neighbours have cats that enter my backyard and there is also...
Well i know that but i dont want to put him where has earth or sand for not hurting his eyes, this temporary one is more clean and as they are native from this very region (north east Brazil's Coast) the normal temperature and humidity of the ambient are naturally right
He was living in this enclosure of the first photo but i moved him for not getting hurt to the paper box of the second photo (the stain on the bottom is water he spilled getting out of the water)
They are native from here where i live, i assume the humidity and temperature are naturally correct wich are at the moment 26° Celsius (a bit cold for the region, today is a rainy day) and 74% humidity, i used to wash his eyes with saline solution in the beginning when he could not open his eyes...
Hello friends, on the 12th of february a single baby redfoot tortoise born on one of my enclosures, he looked well and i put him in a separate space from his parents as they could hurt im somehow, he was botn with a closed nostril wich i easily opened cautiously with a toothbrush, but the next...
Hello friends, my female redfoot laid eggs on the ground without burying them, and was doing some "automatic" digging movements near them but not really digging, then she left to take a bath at the "pool", she lives with a male redfoot and they are not fighting.
She never did this before...
Unfortunately it is rain station here where i live so its really bad to build things like a new cave on the second enclosure and a small lake, it rains almost everyday since 3-4 months so the enclosures are basically the same thing, the lake of the old enclosure is leaking so i had to put a dish...
here it is, the old enclosure i solved the problem building a new one and putting one of the males there, but i still need to build a new lake and cave for the separated male to sleep, this is the new but i still need as i said to build a lake and a cave, and find something to use as...
Thanks for your compliments about the enclosure. I have decided i will build a new enclosure in the same style of the old and put one of the males there, i know the other male will continue to annoy a little the female, i will try to find a solution for that. Thank you all.
Thanks for the reply. The problem is that i have space for only one more enclosure : this is their enclosure now ( i know the awning to cover the food isn't good but im thinking in something else that can protect the food from the sun and look good)
Oh and thanks for the reply , I think i will build a new enclosure, what one tortoise you think i should put in the new enclosure? One of the males is brother of the female (Bob), the one named Boo is the more agressive. Now they are temporarily separated, one day I leave one next to the female...
the photo isn't clear but judging by the concavity of the shell and the apparent size of the tail i would say it is a male but it is hard to see in the picture
Hello, thanks for approving my account, i live in Brazil and i have 3 redfoot tortoises, 2 males and 1 female. I have these tortoises since 2013 and i never had big problems related to them, but now i can't let the 2 males together because when they are together in their enclosure they fight...
