    Digging

Thank you both. Luckily Buddy has decided that he has dug far enough (or he just can't get past the bricks). Either way he seems content. Hopefully it stays that way haha.

    Digging

Just curious if anyone has any suggestions. My 13 year old Sulcata named Buddy who weighs 100 lbs has recently started digging for the first time. I have had him since a hatchling and he has always been satisfied with his man made shelters haha. Anyways, unfortunately he has chose to dig next...

    12 Year Old Male Sulcata

This is an extremely hard post for me which is why I have been holding off but I think it's time. Buddy is approximately 12 years old, around 100 lbs and approximately 2 feet long. He has moved 4 different times with me and my ultimate goal was to have more land for him to roam on. Unfortunately...

Large white patch on Sulcata shell

He sits under the air conditioner condenser drain line. He also has a mud pit area. He typically only stays in the mud pit area when it's pretty hot out. He sleeps under the drain line during the summer. I have seen his shell after rubbing up against something. It does turn whitish but I have...

Large white patch on Sulcata shell

Hi, I just washed mud off of my 80lb Sulcata's shell and discovered a large white area. He doesn't seem bothered by it but I'm really concerned since I have never seen this in the past. He has another small area on the other side of his shell. Does this look like shell rot? Thanks for any info.

    Desert Tortoises

I'm trying to help someone rehome 15 Desert Tortoises. They are currently located in AZ so that is where they will need to stay. Obviously per laws, there will be no "rehoming fee" If you have an area where they can live happy and healthy please send me a pm and we can discuss this further...

    Laws - Desert Tortoise

I had someone reach out to me asking for help. They have approximately 15 Desert Tortoises that need to be rehomed. The exact number is unknown at this time. I know there are laws and that they can only be "gifted" and cannot cross state lines (we are in AZ). I'm just wondering if there are any...

Toad in my backyard with dogs.

This is what I was afraid of. I also have a doggy door and have often wondered if it would come in. I have seen my larger dog mouth the toad prior to getting it blocked in a separate area. Just last night I was questioning her behavior and thought she was acting a little off. She was skin and...

    Is my Sulcata laying eggs??

I'm happy to see others are just as excited as I am. I have the area enclosed with bricks in case they are fertile and hatch. Nothing yet, I'm constantly checking when I am home though. My intention was never to breed but what is done is done. I think of it as a once in a lifetime experience for...

My guess would be a Sonoran Desert Toad. I live in East Mesa AZ and live near state trust land.

Toad in my backyard with dogs.

I have a large toad living in my backyard. I would let him be but unfortunately I have 2 dogs that like to "hunt" anything that is small and moves. I know that toads can kill dogs with their poison. For now the toad is blocked in with my large sulcata (I'm assuming they are safe together) but...
