Do u know if RT’s travel well? We go to Florida for few months in winter and hav a hard time finding someone to care for them that long AND i miss them would love to take them w me but its a two day drive...??

My RT’s are outside every other day several hrs in summer, but i need to purchase a uvb light for them. Are there different wattages, or. What is recommended?

Such a cute pic, i had to separate my 2 RT bcuz they started fighting after living together for at least 5 Yrs. one became super bullying...sad. They are both fine now but alot more work with two habitats.

I know what you mean, none here either...this is a dog/cat vet n when i called they said they’re able to do the beak trim..hope same by you. I asked at the pet store that sells reptiles..torts, snakes etc and they gave me nane of vet they use but he is really far from my home...maybe you could...

I have seen online where some people show using like a toenail clipper..looked awful..just confirm w ur vet how they do it...i know how you feel, dont want them to hurt!!!!

Just an FYI..i hav one of my RT’s beak trimmed at vet, they use a dremmel tool...doesn’t hurt them and he eats so much better after...my other torts beak is always fine, but the one seems to need a trim every few months

I don’t think so...n why wud he? I am chking him all the time..not that its not possible but why?? He will eat after a soak if i hand feed him, but now think hes steered away bcuz i try n get the meds in w the syringe when he eats bcuz he wont touch it if i put it on his food..i am just worried...

Also, he is on the second round of meds and clean entire enclosure when he is through with the 3 day medication..all substrate etc

I am spot cleaning, however there is literally nothing to clean, i check very thoroughly daily..when he is soaked there is some milky white pink but NO poo. I would think he would lay under the lamp especially if he was too cool. I will try for warmer tho for sure n see if that helps. Will try...

Diet is organic spring greens, some romaine...once in awhile a little fruit(apple, cantaloupe) and carrots. The fruit, carrots maybe once a month. I hav 2 RT’s..housed separately as they fight...the other is active, eats good etc. also dandelion here n there when available. Outside every other...
