Nails are fine for perpendicular holding not angular like you found out. Construction Lag Screws will work perfectly with a good drill driver. I have a ryobi that takes bits and is a hammer action that works great with them

Mine lives in my shed since it sounds like a mini dryer with shoes clunking. So far all I got from my sapphire gravel is fancy gravel that tumbles nice but no sapphires.

I wish I had video of the snowstorm. In Richmond it turned into rain within feet of the ground since it had so warm the day before. It looked like it would produce 6" or more the way the snow was falling.
