Thanks for the recommendations. I love ryan from southern reptiles, he is a really great guy! I got a hermanns from him but unfortunately he sold the last of his cherryheads i believe. I also tried torts stork but unfortunately its a little out of my price range. I think i just may get redfoots...
@SweetGreekTorts
I also spoke to Viki from tortoise yard and she was the kindest! but all she as in terms of cherryheads right now is one that has an injured eye and i'm not sure if there would be special care needed in the future as i don't have much experience with redfoots
@SweetGreekTorts
Hi, I'm looking for a cherryhead/refoot. Either two cherry or one of each (total of 2). Preferably hatchlings so i can grow them up. Also looking around the 150 or less than 200. He was offering 175 each which sounds like a blessing and even has pictures which is why the seller...
Hi everyone, I saw a vendor from Facebook as well as their website and they have tortoises in my price range. I spoke to the owner through message and they seemed nice and answered all my questions. I also checked the care sheet to compare their answers. They seem legit but i was wondering if...
Hey everyone, Hope all is well and keeping warm during this winter. I've seen advertisements of the Victorville expo coming up and i wasn't able to go to the super show in pomona last month. I know and heard of horror stories about expos and shows and definitely know what to look out for. But...
Hey I hope all was well and everyone had a great holiday season. I was hoping to go to the super show in Pomona on the 5th or 6th. I plan on getting another tortoise, don’t exactly know which yet... was eyeing a marginated, redfoot, or Hermanns, whatever catches my eye ya know? It’s my first...
Hello everyone, I hope all is well. I took in a redfoot from a woman on Craigslist. She was a very nice person and cared for the tortoise but had to let it go because of financial situations. She seemed a little dry and neglected but is very active. From what I was told she is 2 years old and is...
That makes sense. Thanks for the clear up. The plastic enclosure is only temporary as it was what I have but will definitely change it out thanks! Will probably wait on the red foot until I can manage the Greek for now. Thanks for your input
Hello everyone, i recently got a greek tortoise hatchling no more than 2 months old. I live in California but winter is coming so i have an indoor plastic enclosure. He is small and probably the size of my thumb. The breeder who i have done business with and is reliable says he has a few red...
@LaLaP thanks I appreciate it. I’ll try the coconut oil. I feel like crap now knowing he’s been baking all this time and I didn’t know. As for the book shelf, that’s a great idea. I’ll definitely try that!
Will do thanks! I’m a little skeptical about outdoor enclosures because we have a lot of animals like cats, possums that ate our outdoor pets a couple years ago. But I’ll think of some way to get a bigger enclosure. Also will the shell heal normal on its own or is there anything I can do?
@wellington Thank you for your input. I unfortunately won’t be able to upgrade his enclosure for now. I will stop using the lights as I think that is the main issue. I will probably let him out for longer periods of time to substitute not using the lights. I will also change the water bowl right...
Hello everyone, I hope all is well. My name is Rob and I am a beginner tortoise owner. my friend gave me a Russian tortoise for my bday back in August. He said he got it from underground reptiles. Decided to name him Putin since he’s Russian, I know a bad joke... Putin and I have had our ups and...
