Hi, today I noticed this strange lines in one of my tortoise Gopherus, is it something bad?arw they growth lines? I have been bathing them in tap water and I read it could be calcium residue from thw water.
I thought that too, I thought the yellow thing that popped from his eye hole was his eye, but apparently it was something else. Im just glad he can see and eat normally :) I will make another post with a resume of this situation, to see if someone knows what happened and in the case someone has...
Jajaja maybe in the picture isnt so clear but we made some "test" to confirm she can see and she does :)
Regardin the new terrarium I will buy some substrate, but I wanted to know if paper towels would work for the moment?

Thanks Sue :) I have already found a thread from Tom where he explains how to incubate the eggs in case I decide to do so, but we haven´t decided. I read that Gopherus Berlandieri lay between 1-3 eggs, in case we decide to keep them it wont be that difficult.
I don´t know why you said I wasn´t helpful since I never said I wont separete them, but its okay, Im glad you arent trying to make conflict.
I will actually make the new setup for the little tortoise in about an hour, it isnt as big as the other but I found a terrarium bigger than the plastic...
I didnt hatch them, we found them in our garden already hatched, we couldnt find were the tortoise laid the eggs nor the egg shells, because of the umbilical scar I assume they were 2 weeks old when we found them, what does this relate to the hatchling with the missing eye? I dont know if you...

They do eat on their own, I have catched them eating the leaves of the plants, but this tortoise struggles to eat so I help her out, I stay with her at least an hour to make sure she eats and gets her nutrients.
she didn´t got injured because of the other tortoise, it was a birth deformation, I had another post where I explain it, I am aware they get bullied but I do not have another terrarium to keep them separated. The temporary terrarium I mentioned before would not be suitable for the long term...
