We built the your plan night box. Well Charlie has grown to 78 lbs. When it is time to build a bigger one? At 15 degrees right now in texas and we are having trouble keeping the box at a steady temperature. We hung a small space heater to help with the temps. Is there a better way? Not sure why...
Thank you! I bought Charlie when she was 1 years old and I think it just said sulcata. How do I know if it is a sedan sulcata? Can you tell from my picture?
maybe my scale is wrong???? LOL when I measured and weighed her on May first my scale said she was 45.6 pounds she was around 19.25" long and 14" wide . July 18th she weighed 52 pounds Why is she growing so fast? Is that a problem? When I got her she was 1 year old and smaller than my hand...
hmmmm.... that really stinks. Well not sure if I am quite ready to build another one as she only has had this one 2 years. LOL IS 52 pounds for a 4 year old odd? Too big, too small?
I have a 52 lb sulcata that is digging deeper in the underground hide that we made her. We dug a hole and frames it with wood. Now that she is bigger she is on a mission every day to dig deeper and she is half way past the wooden frame that we used. She just started this digging this summer...
I built one of your night boxes and my sulcata ALWAYS poops and pees on the heat pad. is that normal? I can not tell you the last time she has gone in the yard. Is there anything that I can do to get her to go outside of her box? Silly question but she makes a BIG mess and it is hard to clean...
Tom, where do you find organic grass hay?
Also, I was wondering how you keeep the outside enclosure clean? My Charlie is constantley peeing and pooping in her enclosure. I can not remember the last time she pooped outside!! I am so worried it is ruining the night box. She pees and it goes...
I was thinking about putting some hard plastic on the bottom for easier clean up but she probably would not like that. The piece of wood is a good idea. Thanks!
