Greetings from Brooklyn! I just inherited an abandoned Sulcata.

Maaaaaan. I didn't mean to add even more stress to her life. They're separated now though so she should be fine. The dog really couldn't care less about her, so there are no issues with him trying to get to her.

    Do scales grow back?

I guess I can't tell if it's a scar or not. At least her legs healed up :)

Greetings from Brooklyn! I just inherited an abandoned Sulcata.

She's in an enclosure at this point, no apartment roaming. I didn't consider that about the dog, though she does seem to like him--once she catches up she just snuggles up, no ramming or biting. Body heat maybe? Thanks for offering her a home if anything comes up. I don't imagine I'll need to...

    Do scales grow back?

Long story short, I recently rescued an adult Sulcata. She survived a house fire last year and endured a bad skin infection for several months after, and I nursed her back to health. Her legs finally healed, but only after they completely scabbed over and she yanked her own scabs clear off...

Greetings from Brooklyn! I just inherited an abandoned Sulcata.

Thank you! I'm sure you'll be seeing my posts all over the place since I'm a bit of a reptile noob. I'll do my best to make her happy. She loves getting out and chasing my dog.

I suppose it's possible the owner lied...but he said he has had her since early childhood, and we are both in our 30's. Can't imagine why someone would lie about that, though. I guess crazier things have happened. Any chance she might ever grow her scales back?

Greetings from Brooklyn! I just inherited an abandoned Sulcata.

Thank you! Yes, it’s pretty incredible. She’s small but feisty! The first two pics are from when I first got her, scales and all. I suspect the fire caused a lot of stress too, hence scale loss. It’s pretty miraculous that she even survived AND was found before demolition. They found her hiding...

Greetings from Brooklyn! I just inherited an abandoned Sulcata.

Hello tort friends, As the title states, I inherited an abandoned Sulcata. She is 32 years old and a whopping...8 pounds. She did not receive great care, being fed only kale and water every other day for many years. Her original owner had a house fire and lost almost everything, so I took in...
