    Cass is loving bathtime today.

First time doing bathtime early in the morning when Cass first wakes up. Normally he is just chilling and enjoying the warm bath, but the nap soak was adorable!

    Atrium Enclosure

Cool. The house I grew up in was previously owned by an architect and he designed an awesome atrium in the center of the house. It was quite fun to have an outside space without needing to go outside my home. :)

Is 40F degrees too cold for a Sulcata?

Okay, then. I didn't take what she said as judgemental as I am truly happy to have the wealth of resources here at TFO, just wanted to understand. There's so much bad information online and I more read it as concerned and passionate. Sigh:( I am sorry to cause animosity between anyone. Feel free...

Is 40F degrees too cold for a Sulcata?

Not at all trying to be dramatic or keep the topic going. You can refer me elsewhere to keep this thread just pictures and love, but as a newbie still learning this post is so vague that I wouldn't have any idea what kind of things talked about here are so offensive regarding husbandry. I didn't...

Concerns about stickers in sulcatas enclosure

I saw that the weed itself was what was sharp and was referred to as burrs or similar way of saying it. Some plants in south USA are called burrweed or similar even if they don't have actual burrs. Does that make sense? I'm a bit sleeps today and my brain fog is strong. :( But, I hope I still...

    Poop size?

Now, I'm curious. Someone more experienced might have an answer. In my baby, how much he poops varies depending on growth spurt, hydration, if he's gotten to go explore outside, etc. He goes daily, but sometimes he goes multiple times a day. He loves to eat and poop. :)

    Poop size?

I have no idea what's optimal, but it's an interesting question. Have you searched to see if it's been discussed before?

Same here. I usually use the mobile site and the ads are either in between each reply or every other reply when I read a thread.

Concerns about stickers in sulcatas enclosure

Looks like field madder based on size of the leaves and blossoms, using the grass blades for reference, which is in season here in TX. I imagine they have field madder in Mississippi also. I actually take photos close up of many plants around me. I'm sure to have a good close up of the blossoms...

    Sulcata lovers and photos

Here's my baby Castiel (Cass usually) and he's been with us since August 2018, hatched in June or July of 2018. He's very social and loves stomping around the yard when it's warm enough. We had a cold front and he's a bit grumpy to be inside, but he likes to make a little den on my lap or tummy...

Please help answer my questions about my baby sulcata!!

Sounds like your baby's a shy eater? Maybe just feeling vulnerable and so won't eat with you watching? I am by no means knowledgable about this, just guessing. When I got my hatchling, he would sometimes do that. No so much now as he loves food time, but he will be more cautious and won't eat...

    Question on feeding.

What's the benefit of putting oil on your tortoise back? I haven't heard about that before. If it would be beneficial to my sulcata I will do it and wipe off before he gets back into the dirt. Just curious since I have not heard about oiling a tortoise.

    Weed ID

Sorry, I was saying because it usually grows under trees, and in shaded areas around the house, but it grows in the heat and full sun too.

    Weed ID

It is an oxalis, commonly called wood sorrel here, causeit is usually. There's also a yellow flowering kind as well.

    I need advice please :(

She did address temperature and the importance of warming the tortoise to prevent an infection from coming on in the future. She corrected a lot of misinformation about tortoise care for us, and being only a couple of months old, we chose to use caution because Cass got very sick, very fast. It...
