So after a month and a half of waiting I finally got my tortoise table built!
It was a long day!
The table is 8ft x 3ft and has a removable divider in the middle so each side is 4x3. The walls are 6" x 1" and have 6" of plexi glass on top of them
Frankie & Jordan's side...
I can't say I like one better than the other, they each have their own little personalities and they change and grow more and more every day.
Right now I have to say that my heart goes out more to my first tortoise that I got 2 weeks before them, she is a couple years old and came from a...

at about 4:04 you can see Jordan try Frankie's favorite food for the first time, and Jordan's complete disgust for it lol
its a hit or miss, I've heard some bad things about zoo med's customer service as much as I have heard about the repti fogger. But you have to take into consideration the fact that normal people (like myself) that have a product that works 7 times out of 10 don't leave a review BUT if it doesn't...
both tests were ran with all heating and basking lamps off, only UV flourescent lights were on so no heat source was available and thus the temps kept dropping, I will have these on a timer to run a few times a day for 15-25 minutes. They would keep the substrate too damp if I ran them all day
I decided since I needed two foggers (two different tanks) that I was going to get a Zoo Med Repti Fogger and a home humidifier and see which one I liked best.
I chose the Crane Ultrasonic Cool Mist Elephant Humidifier because being an elephant...It had a trunk! making it an easy to rig...
haha no, sometimes when we know we will get a "Frost" we will cover them. but it seems like for every one that dies 3 come back in spring.
we also have a 10 acre orange grove, it calls for a bit more in winter to keep it going but its not too bad
(oh and that's my horse cowgirl, doing what...
sorry to hear about your guy. I have owned horses all of my life and currently have 2 that I have raised from the time they hit the ground (they are 14 and 9 now)
when my mare was 6 she foaled her first son and became lame in her back end, this was devastating as she was not only a family...
I agree with the above post, you could easily get two 55 gal rubbermaids and make them attached, and save yourself about $160 than it would cost for the wooden zoo med ones. A simple screen could be made in no time with some rabbit/chicken fence. I guess it depends on how much you want to spend
yes it's okay to use them both, but as everyone has said it is better to use a vapor bulb such as the zoo med powersun because it gives off UVB, UVA, heat and visible light all in one bulb vs having to have two bulbs and two fixtures.
I had a set up like yours before and I took it back...
what kind of timer did you get? I've been looking for one that will let me do 10-15 minutes multiple times a day
I bought a repti fogger as well (still waiting on it) and I also bought this funky little elephant humidifier from walmart.com that I am going to attach a tube to (his trunk lol)
as some of you may know I recently purchased a redfoot baby about a week ago and on Sunday I decided my little "Frankie" needed a friend (plus I was addicted)
so today fedex brought to me my little "Jordan"
(Frankie in the back, Jordan up front)
She has a...
