I don't understand why some people feel compelled to educate others, when clearly they don't know what they are doing. The biggest redfoot, on the left, has severe MBD. At least take him out, and pretend that whatever he is doing is working. LOL Anyways, my guess is that they are not getting the...
If the group of redfoot in the beginning are in fact his, born and raised, then I have a problem with his method. That redfoot on the left does not look healthy, and the rest are all showing signs of pyramiding.
Chinese box turtle (Cuora flavomarginata) or golden-headed turtle is not to be confused with the golden coin turtle (Cuora trifasciata) or Chinese three-striped box turtle. Here is an article on how rare/valuable and critically endangered in the wild the Cuora trifasciata is...
They use it to promote their page and do not credit you or your method. I'm not sure about the page, but looks very fishy (some images such as profile pictures show fake plastic/resin models and pass them as real radiated tortoises), broken English, illegal torts, and is listed as a pet supplies...
Tom, I saw this page using your image and some pictures of other users in the forum. Wanted to alert you to see if they had permission or not.

The problem with stores is that, in general, they have and feel no connection with the live animals they sell. To the stores, the animals are just goods or inventory. The goal is to get rid of the goods as fast as possible and to make a profit. Anything on top of that is just expenses, which...
Great to hear that the tortoise is doing okay. Exactly why it happened is not so clear, but the adjustments seem reasonable. Raising tortoise is a learning process, having inputs from others is a big help but by no means definitive, since there are so many factors involved and we don't speak...
So where is the tort-off? We need to see Eric's tortoises. I've seen the results of Tom's proven method, not just from Tom, but replicated by people, around the world, who follow the simple method.
Frankly, so far, I've not seen a case of captive tortoise, raised from hatchling and not soaked...
Eric, this is probably a typo, because it's not BS. Without "proper husbandry" the animals will not only shrivel up and pyramid, but they will die. I think you meant "soaking" rather than "proper husbandry".
Who is Erica?!! I'm pretty sure it's Eric...
Soaking is not absolutely necessary. True. The biggest downside is that your tortoise might drown. Also True. These are all valid points.
What we can all agree on is that proper hydration is necessary, especially in a foreign, captive and...
