Thank you so much! I want him to have a great life. I set it on 80 but I can go up. Maybe bump it up to 85? It says it has a 3 degree leverage as well. I just ordered the heat panel and thermostat.
Ok! So we have built Scully, 3 year old Sulcata, his new place. The front part is small, I'm aware. Its just until we get his other part built which will be much larger. Mostly I'm wanting to know what yall think of the house. It has a Zoomed habitat heater pad with a thermostat set on 80F. Is...
My guy has some slight pyramiding, I didnt know how to keep him in a humid environment. Is humidity something to work on inside their outdoor house as well?
I'm so new at this and I feel like I'm so ill prepared. I think I'm doing the right thing and then it turns out I'm not.
I have a really nice wooden dog house I was saving for fall to insulate and use for my sulcata but I think I better do it now. I bought the zoo med habitat heating pad along...
He will only be staying in this enclosure when my husband and I are at work. When we are home he has the whole backyard.
He is directly on the ground as of right now. I am looking into putting a bottom on the box part and filling it with some substrate.
Thank you. I will look into these.
We closed off the one end so it only has a small hole to go through instead of being open, would this not be an adequate place for him to stay even during winter? I was going to buy that heavy plastic to cover the door and hold heat in.
I have a 3 year old Sulcata that weighs about 6 lbs and I am putting him outside in an enclosure for the first time overnight. We built the enclosure ourselves. It is 8 feet long with a two foot by three foot hide box to stay cool in. It has a lid with mesh wiring to help keep predators away. I...
I put my sulcata in his tub to soak and I noticed he kept rubbing his eye on his arm. When I looked it had a pink skin over it! It's never done this before. I took a picture of it and when I looked back at him it was all fixed. What in the world just happened?!
That second one is very doable! Have a soaking place for him and a shady spot. What plants do people plant in outside enclosures for Sulcatas. I have the spineless cactus growing in my backyard that he loves to eat.
