Good morning,
Do these growth rings seem normal? They seemed very large to me but I could be wrong. I have been trying to keep her on a better diet because she used to over eat and started to become overweight.
I have 2 reeves turtles in a large tank, I would like to add another turtle. Is there any other type of turtle with comparable size and temperament that would blend well? My two reeves have great personalities(for turtles).
juvenile redfoot in the closed chamber on bottom left. Juvenile Russian in the enclosure top left. Juvenile eastern hermanns in the tortoise table. Took many hours to build them all and seems to be working good!
I have two 1.5 year old reeves turtles. They are in the same tank, eat same food. Both are acting perfectly fine but one of them has swollen body by his back legs. He is eating fine, basking, swimming just fine. Any idea?
The top of my Russians shell seems dry and jagged almost, no pyramiding. I wet her substrate down everyday. Every other day soaks. I have a 75 watt basking bulb which I don’t think is too low to substrate. Is there anything I can rub on her shell?
I know obviously sulcatas get quite large. I am however curious to general growth rate? How large would I expect a baby to be after 1 year? 2 years? 3?
I do not have an extra $250 for a nice uv meter, does anyone have a good height I should set my 36” T5 5.0 above my Russian tort? Thank you for any help.
At first would it be better to have a baby sulcata in a closed chamber with full length uvb, steady heat And no basking with high humidity? Or open tort table with basking area, full uvb and a cool side with decent humidity?
I have a RF in a closed chamber. I was going to switch out the reptibark substrate for soil. Would it be a good idea to transplant some sod from my lawn so there would be grass to eat also? Was thinking about the same thing for my Russian tort.
