Hi all! My tort’s bigger enclosure comes in the mail soon and I need to get better substrate for him. Would you guys recommend this brand of coco coir on Amazon?
Also, would you suggest that I put 50/50 of coco coir and reptibark in his enclosure?
thanks!
Think this will be okay? It’s a LOT bigger than what he is in now. Just not sure if white will be okay for him. It’s hard to find unfinished wood :/

I downloaded an app on my iPhone called picture this and you’re able to get a 7 day free trial before you decide to buy it. I ended up purchasing it after my 7 day trial because it’s pretty spot on compared to other “free” apps I was using to identify plants. I pretty much verified everything...

Hi guys!
I really do need to upgrade my Russian tortoise’s enclosure, because it is too small for him and he is an adult. (I know it’s too small, please don’t yell at me, lol)
with that being said, I’m not too handy, and I’m looking for a bigger wooden home for him, so I can also finally set...
I bought mine from a reptile pet store and they say he was wild caught, estimated to be 5 years old. After doing all of this research I feel so bad but I promised him I’ll try to give him the best home possible. I’m still working on his outdoor enclosure so he can spend a few hours a day in...
I’m going to hang around on this thread because I’m currently in the process of building one for my Russian tortoise, and I’m also curious about a cover for it, as I’m going to be doing the same as you. Taking him in for the night so I need to be able to reach him throughout the whole enclosure...
Hi guys,
his new and improved home came in today. I’m airing it out though because I think it smells funny. I’m switching him from the small glass tank to a wooden box (pictured below). This new home will be his indoor enclosure for the night and of course during winter when he can’t go...
Yes, I’m going to put 6” wood all around the perimeter underneath his enclosure. He will be out for a few hours a day and will still come inside at night. I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night knowing he’s outside all alone. And, I do plan to get some type of wire cover to cover it all, as I...
