Why do so many folks make enclosures so barren???

Get ones with large leaves. It’s much harder to rip out/off the big fake ones.

Coconut substrate/moss stuck in leg cavity?

Could you use one hand to hold him tightly against yourself and hold the leg out? Then, the other leg could be dealt with using your free hand. My guy will let all of his limbs hang down if I hold him under a stream of water (like a shower). You might be able to pick it out in that situation...

    Lethargic, help!

Great news! Chances are: either he’s a bit dehydrated or he did poop and you just didn’t find it yet. I would try a 20-30 minute warm water soak tonight and in the morning. It definitely won’t hurt him as long as he is kept warm enough in the water and the water is clear of poop/pee.

    Lethargic, help!

I have no idea what is wrong with your little guy, but I want to give you a huge high five for doing research on this forum, checking on the standard problems (light, temp, etc...), and trying a few things before asking. ? Every person who has a question should ask in order to keep their tort...

    Orchid Bark

Hi there- I know this post was a long while ago, but I’m hoping you can dig up the name of the bark you use/used. I followed the link, but the company was rebranded and the website isn’t working any longer. I have an adult male Greek and have struggled to find a really good substrate for him...

Is my tortoise dead ? Please please help me ? I'm begging please

If you buried it 3 hours ago (as your post above says), it doesn’t matter now if he was alive. He’s definitely dead now. I’m sorry for your loss. Before you get any pet, it is essential that you do lots of research before bringing it home. You must have a clear plan of where it will live, what...

Is my tortoise dead ? Please please help me ? I'm begging please

I know you are feeling very worried. We will help you. Please don’t panic. We need information before anyone can answer the question of if he is alive. He might just be too cold. Do not rush to bury him. FIRST, put him in warm water with his head out of the water. Keep the water warm. Leave...

    Testudo not eating

I needed to change my tort’s diet after adopting him. He’s 10 and had been eating only romaine lettuce and blueberries his whole life. (So terribly neglected!) Yours is only eating liquids now, but I think the same principles apply. I used https://www.thetortoisetable.org.uk/ and the care sheets...

    Housing Babies Together?

Thank you for confirming! I’ve been on that fb group for less than a week and am honestly shocked at the number of very, very wrong things people say. I actually think I may just unfollow them. It’s quite frustrating and disappointing to see.

    Housing Babies Together?

Hi All! I recently joined a Facebook group related to Greek tortoises (I have one 10 year old Mesopotamian Greek). I thought it would be interesting/fun to see others’ Greeks. Earlier today, I saw a post regarding two single digit months old Greeks who are housed together and one is growing...
