I thought it took years to be able to sex a tortoise. I got my hermanns as a hatchling this March and tonight during a soak, I saw this 😳 I’m a mom of 4 boys…. 5 now I guess 😅
Hey all. Does anyone know if it’s safe to put sticky gnat traps inside a tortoise enclosure? These particular traps stick to glass so I can keep them far out of reach of my tort. We have an infestation in our closed chamber.

Weighed in grams. Does this amount of growth seem okay? Tort is roughly 2 months old. Fed dark, leafy greens, Mazuri (doesn’t seem to care for), kept in closed chamber, and soaked daily.
We’ve had our little fella a couple days now and I never expected just how much i’d enjoy caring for him/her! I’ve planted fast growing grass seed straight into the substrate so they have something to nibble on all day. Pics for fun!
He/she arrived today (upside down!) Had a soak right away and then tore through a plate of veggies. Exploring like crazy!

I’m in Iowa. I’ve called 10 local nurseries and garden stores and can’t find orchid bark. They have the Better Gro brand at Lowes and I have 7, 8 qt bags in my cart for $45 total. Enclosure is 52 1/2” L x 20” W. Is that enough?
