    Picking “wild” dandelions?

Hey all - was walking on a new walking path in Irvine CA and came across lots of what looks to be wild dandelion along both sides of the paved walkway. I was curious if something like that would be safe to pick and feed my torts. Wasn't sure if there was anything to be aware of that could harm...

Swollen legs with skin & claws falling off

I am not sure if that is what righty has, but afyer looking thorough those pictures it definitely looks like what lefty has and one of the symptoms was swelling of arms and legs so that could explain the others even though they dont have the bumps.

Update from Dr. Greek. He said he wasnt sure what was causing the swelling in big guys leg (did an xray and there was no signs of breakage) he said it could either be trauma or an infection and to monitor it and try massaging it daily. For lefty he said the lesions look to be a...

    Hard skin growths on hatchling

Awesome thanks for the tip, yes definitely learned about humidity the hard way but have had them in a closed chamber w/ 70-80% humidity, humid hides, and 20 min daily soakings. Hard skin growths on hatchling

Clear Crystal looking rocks popping up in enclosure

yeah both said 100% coco coir substrate, no additives. I bought the one labelled as planting to see if the rocks were just a reptile thing. Just strange that the exact same mineral stones came in both.

Clear Crystal looking rocks popping up in enclosure

@Tom @Yvonne G @TammyJ Update for everyone. I ordered new coco coir bricks, this time a different brand (not a reptile company) and cleaned out the enclosure and replaced all the substrate. It seems that this coco coir too has these mineral like granular specs and rocks throughout it...

Clear Crystal looking rocks popping up in enclosure

Yeah I am confused as well. I hope they are from the substrate and the torts arent trying to pass these. I will bring them to Dr Greek next week when I have him look at big guys swollen leg and see if he has any thoughts.

Clear Crystal looking rocks popping up in enclosure

Zoomed coco coir bricks from Petco, the smaller granular ones make sense that it comes like that but the bigger ones are what confused me since they seem to “pop up” just sitting on the surface when I keep it really compressed.

Clear Crystal looking rocks popping up in enclosure

Also the biggest one is about the size of their heads so I dont see any way in which they could have eaten something that big, im so confused

Hi all, I keep noticing and removing clear white crystal looking “rocks” from my enclosure and dont know what is causing them if they are coming out of the hatchlings. I have attached pictures of them for reference. They are all the same opaque clear material, some are just dirtier than others...
