My friend's HOA recently decided to really amp up the limitation on pets. There are apparently 5 ladies out there that don't really care about dogs. Anyways, long story short, she never thought of getting an ESA letter for her dog before because she owns the property, works from home, and the...
Apparently we have a situation with Aedes mosquitoes in SoCal. Want to spray them down but don't want to hurt the turtles, torts, cats, and dogs. Any recommendations?
I recently adopted a 15 yr + rf. Not exactly sure on the age. When I picked him up from the shelter, he was extremy dehydrated. I've been soaking him twice a day for a month. His neck and other areas became smooth and black. But his face and 4 feet are still a bit white and dry looking. Whatelse...
Just went to the show this past weekend and it was a bit sad. Majority of the tortoise there had extreme pyramiding or the babies looked super dry. You'd think they know what they are doing. Le sigh....
Found this guy in a parking lot at my work. Didn't want him to get run over by the cars. Seems to be an eastern box turtle. 6 inch shell and male. Anyone wants to take him in?

My albino RES finally has eggs. I was going to go with a DIY rig and got all the necessary equipments but I changed my mind and want an incubator instead. I searched for the forum a bit and found little giant 9300 for $66 on amazon. Would anyone recommend this? Could you recommend some other...
I made my females a nesting box in a 25 gallon bin filled with organic top soil but boy the mess it makes. I clean my filter twice a day and the water just goes from clear to muddy in seconds. My question is can I actually provide a nesting box with just aquarium sand? Seems cleaner
I'm not sure if someone made one or not, the search didn't yield a result. I would like to start a wholesome community thread inspired by this post regarding a lost tort being found. https://tortoiseforum.org/threads/missing-sulcata-in-modesto-ca.197253/
This thread should be dedicated to...
Just got some beautiful albino red eared sliders. Both female, 8 inch +, 5 years +. I have a 65 gallon sitting empty in a garage, a 100 gallon occupied by 6 cichlids, a 45 gallon empty, and one of those big basking box for a 75 gallon setup. I want to maybe combine these? Or do you think just...
So if anyone remembers, I got a hatchling from a backyard breeder few months ago. They were kept dry, and the first baby I took home had dry scabs over the egg sack. I know that I was warned by several members from this thread, was given caresheets by Tom, Wellington, etc. I took care of that...
Saw an ad for a eastern box turtle, there was only one picture. In that picture, 90% of the it contained an overweight lady with finger tattoos, the bottom right corner showed the cute little turtle. Messaged her regarding shipping which she said she could do. Asked for more pictures of the...
But I don't know amything about the shipping process. So far I looked up usps/ups. Can someone just walk me through the basics of shipping a turtle? Domestic, let's say frim VA to CA.
I was reading online that states radiated tortoise can be kept in 50% humidity. Idk if that is true but got me wondering what other species of tortoises can be kept in dry humidity?
I usually just use my thumb and index finger to clean the mouth, I've never tried to brush their skin only their shells. But just out of curiosity, does it hurt them to get their face/mouth and skin brushed softly?
They are both 6 years old. The first one could be male but not sure. I think the second one, which is the bigger tort is female.
First tort is 14-15 inches, 18 lbs?
Second tort is 16-17 inches, 31 lbs.
Thanks in advance.
