If you spray it with a spray bottle it should be fine, I don't think it has the potential to mold or anything. I have heard of people spraying it down for moisture.
Have you tried only putting greens in her food bowl, or even putting mostly greens and just a few other things? Eventually she will get hungry enough to eat the greens if that is what is available. They can be just like kids, very picky! Definately don't give her too much of the peas and...

Right now, they both look like females but I think they still might be too young to tell. I thought my Russian was a female for sure when he was about that size, but his tail had a growth spurt and now I am 100% sure that he is a male. You might need to give it just a little more time to be sure.
Make sure he gets good exercise if he eats alot. My little guy eats alot too, but he also gets in a good workout. Just make sure he dosen't get too much protein.
I've actually bought a flat of regular grass that you would put in your yard and put it in the enclosure. It gives it a more outdoor feel and he can burrow in it too.
My tortoise does that sometimes too. I 've found that if he's close to the wall or has other objects around him, he can flip over by himself because he is pretty strong. I have come home from work before and found him flipped over and I knew it couldnt have been for more than a couple of hours...
