    For any state you can go to the department of natural resources to see if they are illegal to own. That is where you would get the best information. I do not know if it lists sales cause I always look for ownership.

    I have at petsmart also. Just have to monitor for ick. Having an established filter helps with this. The only good prevention of ick. Something in the bacteria eats it.... I think the bacteria. Been a while since I read it. Think it was spruce pets article.
