PURCHASING MY HERMANNS TORTOISE THIS WEEK CALLED TONY

Thanks to several TFO members, I'm finding top soil mixed with coir (70&/30%) is great for hatchlings and juveniles. It helps keep the little guys hydrated, big time. But with adults, it I'm finding that soil/coir mix is very messy. It gets in their water, on their food and besides, the...

Okay to take egg out of Incubator?

I agree, I would leave it. There's still a chance it could hatch. That's a Russian Tortoise egg correct? It still looks good to me. I'm not familiar with their eggs, but it could have diapaused and will develop later when conditions are more favorable. So, give it a chance. Worst that...

please can someone take a guess at sexing my pancakes x

It still may be too early like you said, but here are my guesses: LUCIANNA is a male GABRIELLA is a female Last Pancake I raised turned out to be a male. He was 3-4 years old before it was obvious he was a male. So you should know pretty soon.

What type of turtle is mine?

You're welcome! Do you have a large plastic tub/container that can hold water? That will work too! Make sure it has tall enough sides so the turtles can't get out. Also provide a basking area, something that the turtles can climb up on and get out of the water. Wood, rocks, something...

What type of turtle is mine?

Welcome! :) Your turtles are Indian Roofed Turtles, Kachuga tecta. Very beautiful! Let me guess, you are in India correct? Those turtles are impossible to get here in the States. I would love to have those myself... Here's a link to pictures of other Kachuga species, all are very unusual...

female egyptian tortoise strange sexual behavior

Welcome Ramy! Yes, more pictures please! Kleinmann's are one of my favorites. If they are both females like you suspect, then it's probably a show of dominance as already mentioned. And it is common in tortoises. Here's an example in Hermann's tortoises...
