    Foil around the top taped to PVC that goes into the enclosure, but it will be COLD, so make sure to watch your temps or push it into the substrate through a heating mat

    Why radiateds don't pass urates?

    If it is properly hydrated most tortoises won't pass urates regardless of species (I believe, could be wrong though)

    You can buy a larger tortoise or use blood typing, but that is of course somewhat pricey. When they are small there is no way to know for sure and most sites/breeders state quite clearly that they cannot guarantee the gender of juveniles.

    You cannot reverse pyramiding, but as he grows the new growth will come in smooth if he gets plenty of sun, good humidity, and a good diet.
