Well, we figured out that he loooooooves blood worms! He has eaten them with his soaks the last couple nights :D, hopefully once he gets some energy in him he will start going after his greens and fruits a bit more. Terramycin is on it's way and we will keep you updated on his progress!
What a great looking little girl :D I think she'll pull through just fine! She reminds me of our TTBT Izzy who was in waaaaaaay worse shape than that when we got her! She's doing great now and is one of my favorite animals :D

Ahhh ok that would probably be a good idea, maybe once we can get they eye issue worked out he will start going for his food more! I'll look around and see if I can find some Terramycin anywhere.
Is there a specific type of baby food that I should look for? Anything to avoid? We will pick...
Finally got good pics of his/her eyes, so hard to get him to sit still for a picture!

They do look a little swollen, when we first got them he did not look like he could open them at all, you could just kind of see the skin moving when he would try to blink. Since then he has opened both eyes, though he seems to keep his left eye closed most of the time still.
I'll try and...
He was being offered mealworms and phoenix worms regularly with occasional greens but my friend said he hasn't seen him eating anything for at least a couple of weeks.
Hey guys, been a little while since we have been on here, both our girls (Ellie the redfoot tortoise and Izzy the special needs three-toed boxie) are doing great and growing fast!
So, the other day we were given a very small three-toed box turtle (~the size of a 50 cent piece) by a friend who...
Haha thanks guys she's doing great! Already planning a sweet indoor enclosure for her once we move her out of quarantine in a few months :) gonna have a fun little pond and caves for her I wish we could get it set it up now lol
Well, this is one of my favorite things in the world to watch so I had to take a little video of her going to town on an earthworm. She is looking so much better recently with her good diet and UVB :D

RE: Holding
I'm fairly new to the tortoise thing, but I can say that after keeping snakes for years I've learned that they all have different personalities, some seem to legitimately enjoy being handled while others want nothing of it. As near as I can tell it's about the same for...
Thanks guys! She definitely has a great personality :D We're happy to give her a good, safe, healthy home where she can just focus on being a happy little turtle!
Forgot about this pic, I love how she's soooo happy to have caught that little fish!
Hey guys just wanted to post a few updated pictures of Izzy, our little rescued three-toe, she is getting along great! She is getting some color to her skin, instead of it being almost transparent and silvery, and she's always so full of energy! She'll always be a funky looking little thing but...
I've collected a lot of things over the years. I'm a geek at heart though, my biggest collections are sci-fi books (well books in general but mostly sci-fi lol), table top gaming miniatures (mechwarrior, warmachine etc...), magic the gathering cards (not as much recently but I've got a TON of...
Haha yeah I guess I'd call us animal "collectors" to an extent :D Lets see if I can add this up in my head:
Starting with the mammals:
A metric crapton of rats lol - we breed them for the snakes and have a rat rack plus a couple cages going.
1 African pygmy hedgehog
1 guinea pig
1 long haired...
