    Shell in bad shape.

Here are some Day 11 pics. Almost all the fungus is gone and her shell just needs to regrow. I again scrubbed her with Chlorxidine. I did start her on SilvaSord cream to kill the rest of the bacteria. I'm still concerned about her stomach. I'm feeding her right with lots of calcium and a...

    Shell in bad shape.

I was told by the place I bought her she is wild caught. I think she has the start of MBD because of the shape of her shell and seeing her spine through the top of her shell.

Finished Red Foot & Yellow Foot Outside Habitat

It's about 17ft by 20ft. I spent at least 500 bucks on the Landscaping bricks from Lowes. The fountain was about $150. Not including the pump that cost $60 from Lowes. The first plants were moved from the other enclosure so I didn't add to many new ones maybe $40 bucks worth. The peat moss ran...

    Better than Mazuri for Redfoots

I've found something better than Mazuri for my Red-foot tort. I know what your thinking. I've seen lots of post and topics everyone recommending Mazuri diet. First I'll list the basic ingredients of Mazuri: protein = 15%, fat = 3%, fiber = 18%. Now fiber is what red-foots need as its...

    idea...good or bad?

I use VitaShell on my Red-foot after every other forced soak. I rub it on her shell and legs. Sometimes her head when she allows me. I like the results. Plus it softens my hands too. :) I do mist her a few times a day. I keep her hide box and enclosures moist by misting and pouring water on...

    My Redfoot's indoor pen

Update: I did remove the cover from my UVB light. I ALS replaced my bulb too. I got a UVB meter and measured the UVB. Here is what I found. The new bulb is a Zilla T8 Desert 50. At the bulb itself I'm reading 8642 uW/cm2, At the substrate which is 18 inches away I reading 139 uW/cm2 through the...

    UVB ratings on bulbs mean.

Can you measure that percentage? It's confusing.[hr] I think I'm catching on. Basically UVB has its own wavelength which is a constant. But the amount of of UVB you receive is measured in uW/cm2 which is basically amount compared to distant. Hence the closer you are to the source the more UVB...

    My Redfoot's indoor pen

The UV light is about 17 inches from the top layer of substrate. The heat lamp is 13 inches from the substrate. I did forget to mention that I have a reptile heat pad under the tank in the middle. The same area of the heat lamp. Both keep my tank at 80 to 85 directly under the lamp for basking...

Here are some picks of my indoor pen. It's basically 3 sheets of plexiglas. One on bottom and one of each side long ways with a wood frame.
