    Beautiful cherryheads

Thanks again @G-stars for taking them and giving them a good home! I love the full red head on the male! They'll make some really good looking babies!

Look for Homes for 2 Cherryheads

Hi all, I figured I should update this thread. G-Stars took them and the have a lovely outdoor enclosure in SoCal! Thanks for all the interest! Moderators: I'm not sure how this works, but if you can close this tread since they have been re-homed that would be great! Thanks again for all the...

Look for Homes for 2 Cherryheads

Hi Jamie, Thanks for your note. I currently am PMing with another member who is going to take them. I will be shipping them sometime when the weather gets warmer, but if for any reason that falls through I will definitely reach out!

Look for Homes for 2 Cherryheads

Hi all, Been a long time since I last interacted on the forum, but Franklin is all grown up :) My buddy who got a Cherryhead Redfoot at the same time ended up rehoming his with me. My wife and I finally bought a house and unfortunately it is just too small to house 2 full grown tortoises. They...

    Possible New puppy

Hi all, I thought I would share a picture the breeder sent to me yesterday. We visited her on Saturday and after passing my tests, we put the down payment on her! We get her on the 14th and we can't wait!! :)

    Possible New puppy

Thanks again everybody! Your help, as always, is invaluable! So in summary, I am hearing (please correct me if I am wrong) 1) When I'm out of the house, put her in the crate. When I'm home, at a very minimum, keep at drag line on her at all times 2) Keep on top of training 3) The...

    Possible New puppy

Thanks Heather! Already looking it up and it looks pretty good. What are your guys' thought on treat training versus other methods like the E Collar or the pinch collars?

    Possible New puppy

Perfect! Thanks everybody. Tom: 1) do you just mean in public and when nobody is home? I plan to have her crated when we're not home, but I'm going to set up a run in my backyard for some outside time. Obviously, she will be mostly indoors for a while and then transition to more outdoors as...

    Possible New puppy

Hey all, We're looking into getting a new black lab puppy and want to do all the research I can before jumping into things. I had a yellow lab growing up, so I know the basics. But I wasn't old enough when she was a puppy to really remember and participate in preliminary training. Does anybody...

    Red foot

If you're worried about 3 being too much, I would just stay with your one and enjoy that one. I've only had one and I love it. You can devote everything to just one tort instead of having to spread out.

    Red foot

Two may work. But let me emphasise MAY. If it does, awesome. But is it really worth the risk. Obviously the choice is up to you, but if you do decide to go with 2, I would strongly suggest that you have all the necessary equipment to house them separately if they do not get along.

is my cherry head growth rate ok?

He's growing good! Mine I got in Oct 2012 at 2.5" and now he's almost 6"flat. So I think he's doing just dandy!

    Red foot

Hi! Glad you're here picking up some good info! Reds are one of few tortoises that do well in herds, but I cannot suggest a pair. Three or more is best if you want more than 1. Unfortunately mating can't be stopped if they are opposite sex... my question is how do you plan to quarantine if you...

Please can you tell me how old my Tortoise Eric is?

I know very little about Russians, (I'm a red foot guy) but sand in general isn't the best substrate. It's non-digestible and causes issues like impactions once eaten in all tortoises. I use coco coir and I love it. Some will say that it gets dirt everywhere, but that seems natural to me lol

Thanks for the love everybody! Franklin is pushing 6 inches and I use SolidWorks. I get the free student copy for being an ME student at WSU.

    New Enclosure Build

I kept forgetting to take pictures as I was building, That's why I have so few updates. But as for the CAD model, I just use Solid Works since that's what we use at WSU and create my own drawings.
