Okay! About 6 months ago, I rehomed my redfoots to a man in California, where they now have an outdoor enclosure and get to frolic happily. Since then, I've moved and now have space and desire to setup more shelled buddies. I have a box turtle, but I've been trying to decide what else to get...
Yes! I was hoping to hear from him, his reputation around here is pretty big. I really like these torts, but I'm unsure if Kansas weather really suits them. I may need to look into something with less strict requirements.
Heres a picture of my Chinese Box, Voldemort. Or the "Turtle who shall not be named".
His shell is a bit odd colored for his species, as well as having an extra scute. He was discounted because of the imperfections, but he still deserves a good home!
I have a few questions, really. I recently discovered the Burmese Black Mountain Tortoise and totally fell in love with them. I don't plan on getting one any time soon, I have much work to do building a table and such, but I was wondering if anyone could get me some care information or a sheet...
Oh, I got the views confused with another forum that specializes in turtles over torts, but has less members lol. I've posted on both and am having trouble getting any information on these guys at all.
I'm posting here because it seems as if nobody sees my post in the turtle section. I currently own a yellow margined chinese box turtle, aka chinese box turtle, aka chinese golden box turtle aka like six other things.
I'm thinking of getting a second one, or something else in general, but it...
Mine can seem to eat a lot all day, as long as I keep offering him food. Several large crickets, pellets, mealworms, anything. I worry I'm overfeeding him, but I'm unsure.
Well, I ended up getting a huge 70 gallon aquarium cuz it was on sale, and its completely decorated with soil, bark, live plants and such.
My questions are, how much does he need to eat a day? I used to own redfoots and they ate a lot, so I'm unsure how much he needs to eat.
And then, any...
I have the opportunity to buy a chinese box turtle, the pet store doesn't have it labeled as anything else, but I believe it to be a yellow margined based on the markings on the head. His shell is a lighter color then most I see, but he's still just a baby.
My question is, how big would an...
I have a large bag of Mazuri I'm trying to get rid of.
I was thinking of selling 5 lb bags for 9.99 plus whatever it would cost to ship it.
PM me for questions!
I'm getting ready to ship a baby redfoot from Kansas to California, and I don't really know the process to well. I've looked up packaging details and shipping costs via UPS, but I had a question about heatpacks. What temperatures would I need one and where do I get one?
I was just about to post the same thing. My baby redfoot seems to be having trouble opening his eyes. I tried to feed him and he went to hide, and after awhile, came back out with one eye opened, but one eye closed.
I usually keep the humidity pretty high except for one spot directly below...
After much thought and looking at my life, and things getting ever more chaotic, I've decided I don't really have the time to properly dedicate to my redfoots. I'd like to find new homes for them, and my goal is to get 80-100 dollars for each one. I can provide Mazuri pet food as well, and...
I have a question about my UVB. I have a long UVB bulb which sets ontop of the enclosure. But I don't have a way of putting it in the middle, so one side is illuminated and one side isn't. Is this still getting my torts UVB?
