The larger one with the split scute is at least two feet. The other is only slightly smaller. The larger one has a smaller more narrow plastron so I’m assuming that’s the egg layer. I can’t get pictures, not home.
We found him a few weeks ago. I didn’t think to post on here. The big ones are in the garage right now when it’s wet and windy. We’ve been looking but haven’t seen another
So we’ve had two sulcatas for a few years now. One is 7 and the other is 5. Well we thought they were both males. Until the dogs brought us a little friend. It’s been unseasonably hot in Texas until this past week and now it’s unseasonably cold.
Both larger tortoise have tunnels, one under the...
My little sulcata LOVES banana leaves, I usually sneak it into his breakfast since we have some in our backyard with fresh leaves growing.. I don't know where to get cactus pads that don't have needles, cause all of ours do and I'm scared I will miss some when I take it off and he'll suffer...
Mine is a 40 gallon, 3 1/2 & 2 ft. Okay I'll get that, but right now he's perfect. The basking is 100 degrees and his hide is 80. He's feeling a lot better I think he was cold and tired, he was the same way when I first got him. He's chasing me up and down the tank again and drinking his water...
It's just a heat lamp, I bought it at Home Depot but the basking temp is back to 100 and he's sprawled out on his rocks instead of hiding. I'm gonna give him his mazuri and the CHE how much are those and where do I get one I haven't seen them at our pet stores and the nearest reptile shop is an...
Yeah he's doing a lot better, the heat lamp wasn't working right. Higher wattage wasn't putting off more heat, it was only 80 on his basking spot so I moved it closer and ill test it again but the humidity is at 80 again. He's doing better, mad at me for his soak, but better.
He seems to be okay, I'm gonna move the light closer it seems cooler then normal in the tank. He's running around like normal outside. And it's topsoil, I've used it in his outside enclosure for a few months and contacted the manufacturers and its all organic with peat moss mixed in as the only...
Not yet I've just been leaving him alone to see of he will come out on his own. Ill try that when I get home and then maybe let him outside for a bit, always seems to perk him up a bit.
Usually my tort turbo wakes up way before me, but today he didn't want to come out of his hide and when I put him under the lamp to warm him up he hasn't moved, he ate some but not his usual amount. I cleaned his tank and changed everything and its new substrate.. The humidity is still...
Well after realizing my old enclosure was in the only corner of the house that got NO sunshine at all I moved it to the far corner of our yard. Covered it in topsoil and bird seed, and Bermuda seed and planted, spider plants, lavender, aloes and another plant I forgot the name of... There's a...
What temps can they stand? Turbos about 4 inches, and I've been keeping him in if its under 70... Sound about right? Or is he hardier then I give him credit for, I live in Texas so the suns just about always out and there's no wind in my backyard.
I have a six pack of them, he ate half of one already and carries it around like a dog. His beak is long:/ his shell looks a lot better then when I got him, it's lightened up a lot and the scutes don't look so putlined
Jeez, I get home late and turbo didn't get his outside time and I walk in my room and get his nighttime meal ready and when he finishes it he starts chasing me up and down his tank wall. If I'm on one side he sprints down the glass to get to me.... What 30 minutes a day of freedom has done to him :P
She's a brat, I have chicken wire and some fencing I can put up but they arnt out while he is. They get locked up in the house whenever he's outside. Ohhh I got more plants, no alot but something.... Except when I went out to take the picture the dog was eating them, that's why there's leaves...
