    bThree juvinile Sonoran desert torts!

Hey guys! I have my three little desert tortoises up for adoption. I'm not totally sure about ages, but I think the two littlest ones are around two and a half years old and fit snugly in my hand. The third is maybe seven years old and about six inches long. They all have been raised outdoors in...

    why did my tort die???

Well, thank you all. I am sorry to say but I really don't know a lot about how the breeder raised them or incubated them. I only know they were not raised dry. I don't think over heating was the problem… temps were good. can Muzari be toxic if it is old?

    why did my tort die???

The breeder did give him daily soaks, as did I for the first month or two I had him, after that it was about once a week but he drank from his water dish all the time. I think the breeder raised him mostly indoors. Th baby came from my area, phoenix (we picked him up in our car). His diet has...

He has not received real sun light for month or two but he use to get a lot, he has a power sun bulb and CHE for night over his humid hide that stays at 80-85. I don't think he ate anything, I did give him burmuda grass for the first time week or two before this. The breeder I got him from...

    why did my tort die???

Hi. sad story. My baby leopard tortoise had been living very actively and eating well etc. for almost a year in my care. One day I noticed that it looked as if he was having trouble breathing. Upon closer inspection, his mouth looked to be full of water and bubbles, and his eyes were glossy like...

    good grass types???

Hello! I'm improving my outdoor desert enclosure and would like suggestions on types of grass to plant that the torts will like. Bermuda is out of the question because my family is allergic to it… The grass needs to withstand HOT conditions. Tiff? Thank you!

    Ideas for large water dishes???

Hey there! I'm planning on redoing my outdoor enclosure for my SDTs and would like to put in a big water dish almost a pool for them. I have been using the terra cotta pot saucers but it seems like the water dries out of those much faster than it should… and I lust want something bigger. I saw a...

    Feeding

Hello, I would not skip days for feeding even though they can go a week without food. I usually put out the food sometime before noon and let them snack on it as they like. I don't think feeding times matter much but I would recommend morning.

I'm not sure if they are males or not... the four babies are to small to tell and the juvenile is also too little.
