doesn't seem like it has gotten longer just proportionate to were it was at 5 inches. Do girls have an "extra tail" that occasionally protrudes out the tail vent?
Im not saying she literally had two tails. Im saying something came out of her tail that made it look as if she had two tails. Ive never seen it before and we didn't have a camera handy. I don't know if we will see it again.
My Penelope had her tail hanging in her water bowl. My wife and I was watching because she never has her tail out it is usually tucked up in her shell. She started wagging her tail back and forth and suddenly it looked like she had two tails.
I have posted pictures of her on this blog before...
My red foot was classified as a western and it was a 2011 hatchling. She is 5.5" She has grown 1/2" in the three months that i've had her. Is that to much growth for three month? Am I overfeeding? It would be great to have answers to these questions regarding heathy growth rate and what to...
My tortoise has had 3 names in less then a month. Stated out Oogway then Gamera but now that I found out she is a girl the name is ..........Penelope!
My kids are so confused.
Sure you don't mean Jay Frewer? Thats where I got mine from. I LOVE the orange white yellow heads on these guys/girls. I'm hoping to save up money for another before he sells them all. Thats why I was hoping to get the sex on this one so I can buy the opposite sex.
What do you mean by reverse...
I live in NE Ohio and may be interested in your sulcatas. I live on a big farm and would have plenty on room, fresh produce and grasses. What do you keep them in during the winter months? I currently have a red foot tortoise and have a general knowledge about sulcatas. Looking forward to...
We just moved into a century plus old farmhouse in Ohio and have lots of land. We had our first 80 degree day and the grass just shot up. Good for Gamera bad for me I have to mow all of it!
I bought this red foot from turtle and tortoise inc. I have had him for 2 weeks and he seems really healthy. I took him out for the first sunny warm day we had and I noticed some abnormal? patches on his shell. Another thing I noticed is it seems somebody carved a cross in one of his scutes. So...
I figured it out! The light i was using was to bright. I put in dimmer bulb and he has been much more active. New question should I leave his cuttlebone in his pen at all times? He pounds copous amounts of it
I have had him since thursday so not very long. The humidity fluctuates from 75-85%. The pen is totally enclosed with vents running the full length. I accidently dropped my uvb light and broke the bulb so he doesn't have on right now, but I am making a run this week to pick one up.
I changed my tortoise's name to Gamera (another mst3k refernce). Anyhow the last two days he has spent all his time in his hide. I pull him out in the morning and put him in his water pan and place fresh food in his pen. He drinks moves to the food and eats his fill then right back to his hide...
I recieved my red foot on Thursday. All seems well, he is fairly active, eating and drinking. But he has not pooped. Should I be worried?
His diet so far has been Mango, Kale greens, mustard greens, strawberry, shredded carrots, corn, mushroom (which he never ate) and he has been nibbling on...
